The Beaver Bat Company has just received in it's first ever shipment of hand-split straight grain maple.  Although we've always only sold straight grain wood, it is our understanding that hand split wood is the best way to ensure the straightest grain possible.  This wood costs a little bit more than our standard straight grain wood, but we wanted to try it out for our customers.  We're currently using this wood with some of our best customers so we can collect feedback confirming the quality of the wood.  Feel free to call us for more details.
